| Trip Details Arran is known as 'Scotland in Minature'. It has everything - amazing coastal scenery, castles, mountains and standing stones. We will be staying at the Blackwaterfoot Lodge. Sleeping accomodation is in single occupancy rooms. Catering is done locally with local produce. Arrival & Introduction 4:30pm We will take the ferry from Ardrossan at 15:15pm and arrive at Brodick at 4:15pm where we will go by our own transport to Blackwaterfoot, where we will be based for the duration of the trip. Once we are there, we will have a group meeting and cups of tea and some free time to unpack and get acquainted before dinner at 6pm. 6:00 - 7:00pm Dinner 7:00 - 9:00pm I will present a talk on my approaches to landscape photography. Daily Schedule The days are long in August, and sunrise is early at 6am and sunset is late at 8pm. So we will pace ourselves during the day and do some critique sessions during the middle of the day, so we can concerntrate our photography to the golden hours of sunrise and sunset. 6:00 - 9:00am An early morning start, but with good reason, the light is soft at this time of day. 9:00 - 10:00am Self service breakfast. 10:00am - 12:00pm Rest time 12:00pm - 3:00pm Critique session & digital workflow. We will select one or two shots from each member to discuss and I will show you how the image may be improved and the steps involved from RAW file to final print. 5:00 - 6:00pm Dinner 6:00 - 8:00pm On location for sunset. Getting to the workshop There is a daily ferry to Arran. I would recommend that we all meet at Ardrossan ferry terminal for the 15:15 sailing. Please arrive no later than 14:45. Getting to Ardrossan There is a connecting rail service from Glasgow Central train station. There are three trains that you can take, which will get you to Ardrossan for 14:45. The times are 8:33, 11:15 and the latest train possible is at 14:15. Arriving Internationally If you are coming from outside of the UK, please arrive at Glasgow airport the night before, and take any of the three trains listed above from Glasgow Central station on the day of the trip. |
